  1. 1. Place lowfat milk and butter in medium saucepan. Heat to scalding, stirring occasionally; remove from heat and cool to 115 degrees.2. Mix 5 1/2 cups flour, 1/2 cup cornmeal, sugar, yeast and salt in large bowl. Stir in cooled lowfat milk and add in large eggs. Add in sufficient of the remaining flour to make the dough easy to handle.
  2. 3. Turn dough onto floured board and knead till smooth and elastic (about 15 min). Place in greased bowl; turn greased side up and cover. Let rise in warm place till double (about 1 1/2 hrs).
  3. 4. Grease bottoms of 2 round pans (13 inch diameter x 2 inch deep) with oil; sprinkle with cornmeal. Divide dough in 1/2. Roll each 1/2 of dough on floured board into circle 16 inch in diameter. Transfer dough to prepared pans, filling into bottom and partially up the sides of pans.
  4. Add in toppings, sauce, cheese, etc. Bake at 400 degrees 25 min (crust brown, cheese melted).

    I made this pizza dough for my daughters birthday party. I decided to make it as a supreme pizza with everything on it and it turned out great. The way I cooked it was by using a pizza stone. Just be sure to pre-heat your pizza stone before using it and put a decent amount of corn meal on it while it's hot to prevent the dough from sticking to it.

    This is a very different recipe for pizza crust but you will end up with a very traditional tasting thick (but not TO thick) pizza crust that everyone will love!

    btw, the recipe is actually for 2 pizzas which is common. If you want to make just one pizza then cut everything in half (5 1/2 c flour becomes 2 1/4 c, etc.)
