Receta Thick Hot Chocolate (Champurrado)

Ingredientes
- 1/4 c. masa harina
- 3Â 1/2 c. cool water
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3 c. lowfat milk
- 3 ounce sweetened Mexican chocolate flavored with
- Â Â cinnamon

- In a small mixing bowl combine the masa harina with 1/2 c. of water mixing by hand to create a paste. In medium saucepan add in the paste and the remaining 3 c. of water. Bring to boil stirring constantly. Cook slowly for 20 min, the mix will thicken.
- While this mix is simmering, in another saucepan add in the lowfat milk and bring to a boil. Add in the chocolate and cook for about 10 min till the chocolate has completely dissolved.
- Pour the chocolate into the masa harina mix stirring till well incorporated. With a milinillo or possibly an eggbeater, whisk till a foam forms on top, about 3 min. Serve in a large bowl spooning some of the foam on top.
- This recipe yields 4 servings.
