Receta Apple Rum Cake

Ingredientes
- 1/4 c. Shortening
- 1 c. Sugar
- 1 x Egg
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Nutmeg
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 1 c. Flour
- 2 Tbsp. Warm water
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1/2 c. Minced nuts
- 2 1/2 c. Apples, pared and cubed
- 1/2 c. Butter
- 3/4 c. Brown sugar
- 1/4 c. Cream
- 1/2 tsp Rum-flavored extract Or possibly, 1-2 Tablespoons rum
Direcciones
- Cake - Cream together shortening and sugar. Add in remaining cake ingredients through apples in order listed. Mix well. Pour into greased, 9-inch round cake pan or possibly pie plate. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-60 min.
- Rum Sauce - Heat butter. Add in brown sugar and boil 1 minute. Add in cream and boil a few more seconds. Remove from heat and stir in rum extract or possibly rum.
- Serve cake with hot rum sauce.
