Receta Baked Penne Pasta
A delicious baked pasta dish made with ground turkey and Italian turkey sausage. Great for a crowd and also freezes well in individual servings.
Ingredientes
- 1/2 medium onion, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, pressed
- 1 lb. ground turkey (mix 3 sweet Italian turkey sausages removed from casings, plus lean ground turkey)
- 1 (26 oz) jar Tomato & Basil pasta sauce
- 1 (16 oz) box Penne or Ziti pasta
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 3 cups milk
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp white pepper
- 1 (8 oz) package shredded Mozzarella cheese
Direcciones
- Saute chopped onion in hot oil in large skillet over medium high heat until tender.
- Add garlic and saute 1 minute.
- Add ground turkey and turkey sausage, cooking until crumbly and it begins to brown.
- Drain grease, if necessary, and stir in pasta sauce. Simmer, covered, while preparing pasta.
- Cook pasta in salted water in large dutch oven until al dente.
- Drain pasta in strainer and set aside.
- Melt butter in dutch oven over low heat; whisk in flour until smooth. Cook, whisking constantly for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk; cook over medium heat, whisking until mixture is thickened and bubbly. Stir in Parmesan cheese and white pepper. Add pasta to white sauce and stir until evenly coated. Transfer pasta to lightly greased 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Top evenly with red meat sauce and sprinkle with Mozzarella cheese.
- Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes, until cheese is melted and beginning to brown. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
