Receta Bali Hai Banana Cream Pie

Ingredientes
- 3/4 c. Sugar
- 3 Tbsp. Cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 2 c. Lowfat milk
- 1 whl 9" Baked Pastry Shell
- 3 whl Bananas, Large
- 3 whl Egg Whites
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla
- 1/4 tsp Cream Of Tartar
- 6 Tbsp. Sugar
Direcciones
- 1. In saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt; gradually stir in lowfat milk.
- 2. Cook and stir over medium heat till bubbly.
- 3. Cook and stir 2 min. Remove from heat.
- 4. Stir small amount of warm mix into egg yolks; immediately return to warm mix; cook 2 min, stirring constantly.
- 5. Remove from heat. Add in butter and vanilla.
- 6. Slice bananas into bottom of pastry shell. Pour cream mix over bananas.
- 7. Beat egg whites with vanilla and cream of tartar till soft peaks form.
- 8. Gradually add in sugar, beating till stiff and glossy peaks form and all sugar is dissolved.
- 9. Spread meringue over warm filling, sealing to edge of pastry.
- 10. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 min, or possibly till meringue is golden brown.
- Cold.
