Receta Chicago/Italian Fried Zucchini
My interpretation of zucchini ,as cooked in a wonderful old Italian neighborhood restrauant downtown. How I wanna go back there!
Ingredientes
- 2 Plump, long zucchini
- 1/2 cup flour
- Salt and Pepper
- 1/4 tsp. "Italian "seasoning, if you like
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup cooking oil of choice. I use peanut oil.
- 1 beaten egg">egg or egg">egg white or 1/2 cup water
- Small bowl of marinara sauce on the side or salad dressing such as ranch. Whatever suits you.
Direcciones
- Peel zucchini. Cut lengthwise in long, flat, thin strips.
- Add seasonings of choice to flour.
- Heat oil in non stick 10' pan to medium high.
- Dip zucchini in either water or beaten egg.
- Dredge zucchini strips in seasoned flour.
- Fry quickly and take out as soon as zucchini browns. Drain on paper towels and serve with the marinara and/or salad dressing side dishs. Use as many side dish flavors as you like. I love ranch with this.
