Receta Chocolate Almond Cookies

Ingredientes
- 1 c. Blanched slivered almonds
- 1 1/2 c. Packed light brown sugar
- 2 c. Shortening
- 1 Tbsp. Water
- 1 tsp Almond extract
- 2 x Large eggs
- 1 1/2 c. Flour
- 1/3 c. Cocoa pwdr
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Baking soda
- 2 c. Semisweet chocolate chips

- Toast blanched almonds under broiler till lightly browned. Turn over to
- Place brown sugar, shortening, water, and almond extract in large bowl.
- Beat at medium speed till well blended. Add in Large eggs and beat well. Set aside
- Combine flour, cocoa, salt, and baking soda. Add in to shortening mix; beat at low speed till combined. Stir in chocolate chips and almonds.
- Drop by the Tbsp. 2" apart onto and ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 1 sheet at a time at 375 for 7-9 min or possibly till cookies are set. Don't OVERBAKE. Cold 2 min on cookie sheet before removing them to a cooling rack.
