Receta Dried Fruit Stewed With Brown Sugar And Vanilla

Ingredientes
- 4 c. water
- 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 x 8 oz pack mixed dry fruit
- 4 x orange slices
- 1 x cinnamon stick
- 1 piece vanilla bean split lengthwise (1 1/2-inch) Plain yogurt or possibly lowfat sour cream Grnd cinnamon
Direcciones
- Combine all ingredients except yogurt and grnd cinnamon in heavy medium saucepan. Bring to boil, stirring till sugar dissolves. Reduce heat and simmer till fruit softens, stirring occasionally, about 20 min.
- Transfer fruit only to glass bowl, using slotted spoon. Boil liquid till
- reduced to 1 c., returning liquid exuded from fruit to saucepan, about 10
- min. Pour liquid over fruit, discarding orange slices. Serve hot, room temperature or possibly chilled, topping with dollop of yogurt and dusting of cinnamon.
- 4 servings; can be double or possibly tripled.
