Receta Guiness Onion Gravy

Ingredientes
- 6 x onions halved and finely sliced
- 1 x salt and black pepper
- 2 x dry bay leaves grnd or possibly very finely crumbled
- 30 gm beef dripping or possibly butter for frying
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 2 tsp worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp tomato puree
- 1 tsp anchovy essence (available from sainsbury's)
- 1 Tbsp. mushroom ketchup optional 450ml guinness
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp. wine vinegar
Direcciones
- Fry the sliced onions with the salt pepper and around bay leaves in the fat till well caramelised.
- Stir in the flour adding more fat if necessary and fry till the mix has turned a good brown colour.
- Stir in the flavouring ingredients then slowly add in the guinness sugar and wine vinegar and gently bubble together for about 5 min.
- Stir in 300ml water and bubble for a further 15 min.
- A gutsy gravy which goes with anything meaty especiallv when served with mash.
- Serves 4
