Ingredientes

  • 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. quick cooking oats
  • 1/4 c. toasted wheat germ
  • 1/2 c. butter, softened
  • 1 Tbsp. orange zest
  • 3/4 c. packed brown sugar
  • 2 x Large eggs
  • 3/4 c. blanched whole almonds
  • 1/2 c. shredded coconut

Direcciones

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In large bowl beat flour, oats, butter, wheat germ, orange peel and 1/2 c. of packed brown sugar at low speed till just mixed. Beat at medium speed for 2 min (mix will look dry).
  2. With lightly floured hands, shape mix into a ball, then pat into 8" by 8" baking pan.
  3. In a small bowl, beat Large eggs with a 1/4 c. of packed brown sugar, stir in almonds and coconut. Pour proportionately over mix in pan.
  4. Bake 35 min or possibly till toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Cold in pan on rack. Cut into 12 bars.
  6. Great to take along for hiking, camping and will be wonderful for mailing.
