  1. Saute/fry onions in oil in large saucepan till they are brown. Add in spices and saute/fry for a few seconds. Add in 1 c. lentils, 1 c. brown rice. Add in 3 c. boiling water. Cover and simmer till rice and lentils are tender
  2. (about 1 hour). You may need to add in water, depending on the kind of rice used.
  3. Serve warm or possibly cool. Good in pita dressed with warm sauce, soy sauce or possibly whatever.
