Receta Lentils And Rice

Ingredientes
- 1 lrg Onion, coarsely minced
- 1 Tbsp. Oil
- 1 c. Lentils (sorted and washed)
- 1 c. Brown rice
- 3 c. Boiling water
- 1 tsp Cumin seed -or possibly-
- 1 tsp Cardamon seed, crushed
- 1/4 tsp Black pepper, crushed
- 1 x Bay leaf, crushed
- 1 tsp Salt (optional)
- 1 stk cinnamon (1-inch piece)
Direcciones
- Saute/fry onions in oil in large saucepan till they are brown. Add in spices and saute/fry for a few seconds. Add in 1 c. lentils, 1 c. brown rice. Add in 3 c. boiling water. Cover and simmer till rice and lentils are tender
- (about 1 hour). You may need to add in water, depending on the kind of rice used.
- Serve warm or possibly cool. Good in pita dressed with warm sauce, soy sauce or possibly whatever.
