  1. Heat butter in a medium saucepan. Add in onion and garlic and saute/fry till tender, about 3 min. Add in mushrooms and saute/fry 5 min, stirring occasionally. Add in flour. Cook and stir till a smooth paste is formed. Add in chicken broth and half and half gradually, stirring. Add in sherry, salt, nutmeg and pepper. Cook on low, stirring occasionally, for 5 min. Garnish with parsley and serve. Serves 4.
