  1. Mix hamburger, 3/4 c. cheese, egg, crackers, onion, salt, pepper, mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Put in loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Mix together topping and add in to baked meatloaf and bake an additional 15 min.

    I am on a low fat, low carb diet. I needed a recipe that did not rely on ketchup or barbecue sauce, which are high in sugar. I used lean ground beef, eggwhite, no-fat cheddar cheese and substituted oats for the crackers. I did not change the onion, Worcestershire and mustard. The combination of the onion, cheddar, Worcestershire and mustard was great. Even my husband, who doesn't like all my modified recipes, loved it. He said this was the best seasoned meatloaf that I have ever made. It is great to find a recipe that makes me feel like I am cheating on my diet.
