Receta Mitch's Smoky Spicy BBQ sauce
My BBQ sauce is spicy and sweet, has a smoked flavour and is great with pulled pork, pulled beef or pulled chicken sandwiches. You can serve it with any meat to enhance its flavour.
Ingredientes
- 2 1/3 cups (320 ml) packed dark brown sugar
- 1 - 23 oz (640 ml) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup (140 ml) tomato paste
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsps (30 ml) ketchup
- 2 tbsps (30 ml) Cajun type seasoning blend
- 2 tbsps (30 ml) red wine or beer
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) honey or agave nectar
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) Braggs soy sauce or soya sauce
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) regular yellow mustard
- 1 tsp (5 ml) Tabasco sauce
- Juice of 1/2 lemon or lime
- 1 tsp (5 ml) garlic salt
- 1 tsp (5 ml) cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp (5 ml) black pepper
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) Mesquite or Hickory Liquid Smoke
Direcciones
- In a large saucepan, stir together the BBQ sauce ingredients. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Do not cover. Simmer the sauce for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Makes approx. 3 cups.
