  • 2 (29 ounce.) cans cling peach halves
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1 (1 inch) piece cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 c. dry red wine
  • Maraschino cherries

Direcciones

  1. Drain peaches and reserve 1/2 c. of syrup. In small saucepan mix together the reserved syrup, sugar, lemon slices and the stick of cinnamon. Bring to a boil over high heat, reduce heat to moderate low and continue boiling about 18 min - till it reaches 230 degrees on candy thermometer. Cold for 2 min. Stir in wine.
  2. Arrange peaches, lemon slices, cherries, and additional cinnamon sticks (if you like) in apothecary jars or possibly other containers. Add in wine syrup and cover.
  3. Serve over ice cream or possibly as a relish.
  4. Keeps several weeks in refrigerator.
