A few days ago I received this recipe from Pastor Vianela (Casa de Zion Christian Church) and the truth is that I loved the idea and I loved the results.

  • " 1 white onion
  • " 1 pound of bacon.
  • " 2 pounds of potatoes.
  • " Butter.
  • " 1 can of evaporated milk.
  • " 1 cube of chicken broth.
  • " Salt
  • My personal touch
  • " 2 twigs of rosemary.
  • " A sprinkle of paprika, oregano and black pepper.

Direcciones

  1. Lightly fry the onions in butter until they are caramelized, separate.
  2. Lightly fry the bacon in the butter left in the pan. Let it drain the fat. Separate.
  3. Lightly fry the potatoes in the bacon fat and the butter. Once they are almost cooked separate.
  4. In a Pírex add the potatoes, the onions and the bacon in layers until they’re over. Add the evaporated milk and put in oven at high fire until they’re golden.
  5. I could not resist adding my personal touch and sprinkled some paprika, oregano and black pepper. Then placed two twigs of rosemary on each side.
  6. Ah, just in case, I love Pastor Vianela’s cooking style and will try to get some more recipes but don't worry that I’m still and will continue to be a Catholic!! Ha ha ha!
