Receta Stefado (Beef And Onion Stew)

Ingredientes
- 2 lb lean beef
- 2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil - (to 3 tbspns)
- 2 x garlic cloves crushed
- 2 x bay leaves
- 1 Tbsp. wine vinegar
- 4 ounce good-quality red wine
- Â Â Salt to taste
- Â Â Freshly-grnd black pepper to taste
- Â Â Water as needed
- 2 can boiled small white onions - (12 ounce ea)
- Â Â Warm cooked rice
Direcciones
- Saute/fry the beef in extra virgin olive oil. Add in garlic, bay leaves, wine vinegar, wine and salt and pepper. Add in sufficient water to cover. Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hrs, add in more water, if necessary. When stew is ready to serve, add in the onions and heat thoroughly. Serve over rice.
- This recipe yields 4 to 6 servings.
