Receta Toasted Gruyere, Golden Onion, And Apple Sandwiches

Ingredientes
- 1 Tbsp. Extra virgin olive oil
- 1 lb Onions, sliced thin
- 2 tsp Minced fresh rosemary leaves or possibly 1/4 tsp. dry, crumbled
- 2 tsp White-wine vinegar
- 4 x Oval slices rye bread
- 1/2 x Granny Smith apple
- 1/4 lb Thinly sliced Gruyere cheese, (use a cheese plane if possible)

- In a 10-inch heavy skillet heat oil over moderate heat till warm but not
- smoking and cook onions with rosemary, stirring occasionally, till golden brown, about 10 min. Stir in vinegar and salt and pepper to taste and cook till vinegar evaporates. Cold onion mix.
- Preheat broiler.
- On a baking sheet toast both sides of bread about 3 inches from heat till golden brown. Core apple with a melon-ball cutter and cut crosswise into very thin slices. Divide onion mix among toasts, spreading proportionately, and cover with overlapping apple slices. Cover apple slices with Gruyere and broil sandwiches till cheese is melted and bubbling, about 1 minute.
