This slightly sweet rub is appropriate for smoking brisket or beef ribs, hickory smoked burgers (my recipe is yummy), or any beef cooked over indirect heat. Since it contains sugar, which will burn, it is not properly a grilling rub. But, you can smoke your ribs, burgers, etc., until done, then move them over to direct heat for the last few minutes, adding a finishing sauce or glaze.

  • 6 tbs.seasoned salt
  • 1/4 cup garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup oniion powder
  • 1/4 cup paprika
  • 2 tbs. chile powder
  • 2 tbs. ground pepper
  • 1/2 tbs. dry mustard, like Colman's
  • 1/2 tsp. dry thyme
  • 1/2 tsp. celery seed
  • seperately: brown sugar

Direcciones

  1. Mix all ingredients together, except brown sugar.
  2. To each 1/4 cup of mixed seasoning, add 1 tbs. brown sugar, when ready to cook.
  3. Do not store brown sugar with dry seasonings. It will clump.
