  1. Heat oven to 350 . Grease 9-inch pie plate. In medium saucepan, combine sugar, butter and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, just till mix comes to a boil. Remove from heat. Immediately add in chocolate chips; stir till melted. Add in Large eggs; beat with spoon till well blended. Stir in vanilla and nuts, if you like; pour into prepared pie plate. Bake 25 to 30 min or possibly till almost set. (Pie won't test done in denter.) Cold. Prepare Fudge Sauce, if you like. Top hot pie with scoops of ice cream and prepared sauce.
  2. Yield: 8 to 10 servings
