  • 2 garlic cloves, grated
  • 1 pound (450 grams) ground beef
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • pepper
  • pinch nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 (2.5 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 2 (14 ounce) cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika powder
  • 2 cups (225 grams) elbow macaroni
  • ½ cup fresh grated parmesan cheese for topping
