Receta Caramel Apple Pie 2

Ingredientes
- FILLING
- 2 jar caramel ice cream topping
- 5 med yellow apples up to 6
- 1/2 c. pecans minced fine
- 4 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 c. sugar">sugar or possibly brown sugar">sugar
- 2 Tbsp. butter PASTRY
- 1/2 c. butter flavored shortening plus 3 TBSP
- 1 1/3 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 x egg white
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 3 Tbsp. cool water CRUST TOPPING
- 1 c. flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 stk butter or possibly oleo
- 1/2 c. pecans finely minced

- FILLING - In saucepan, combine caramel topping, pecans, cornstarch, sugar & butter; cook over medium to low heat till thick. Prepare crust and crumb topping. In large bowl, peel, core & slice apples; add in caramel topping, mix well. Pour into prepared crust, add in crumb topping. Bake at 350 degrees till apples are done.
- PASTRY - Cut shortening into flour & salt till fine particles are formed. Mix together water, lemon juice & egg white. Add in a Tbsp. at a time to flour mix till dough is formed & almost cleans side of bowl. Turn out on a floured pastry cloth & roll to fit a 10" deep dish pie pan. Place crust into pie pan, trim & flute edges. Fill with filling & bake as direct.
- CRUST TOPPING - Cut ingredients together till pea size crumbs. Sprinkle over top of pie.
