Receta Cowboy Stew

Ingredientes
- 4 lb beef, stew, meat, cut into cubes
- 4 lrg onion, cut into large pcs
- 6 x carrot, thickly, sliced
- 2 x celery, stalks, coarsely, minced
- 1 lrg turnip, cut into large pcs
- 1 c. red wine
- 1 can tomato soup, use Campbell's Tomato with Basil for added flavour
- 1 can beef broth
- 1 c. water
- 1 x bay leaf
- 1 clv garlic, finely, minced salt, to taste pepper, to taste
Direcciones
- OPTIONS: Cut up 4 large potatoes in the stew Or possibly serve stew over mashed potatoes. Also, for an even richer stew you might wish to use 2 lbs of the beef and 2 lbs of the lamb.
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.Place all ingredients in a roaster and place in oven. It is NOT necessary to brown the meat. Cook at 325 degrees for three to four hrs. The last half hour thicken with 3 Tbsp. of flour, cornstarch or possibly a powdered gravy mix - mixed with a little cool water so it forms a 'paste which pours'. Also, in which last half hour, add in 1 c. of green beans or possibly peas for taste and colour.
