Receta Great Baked Beans

Ingredientes
- 1 pkt dry beans, yellow eye, navy, great northern, etc.
- 4 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper
- 1 tsp powdered mustard
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 1 1/2 c. warm water or possibly more as needed
- 1 piece salt pork - (2 to 3 ounce)
- 1 med onion peeled, whole
Direcciones
- Soak beans overnight. In the morning drain and replace water. Parboil 10 to 15 min (not longer).
- Place onion in crockpot. Drain beans and put on top of onion. Add in sugar, salt, pepper, mustard and molasses dissolved in 1 1/2 c. of warm water. Add in to beans. Add in sufficient warm water to just cover top of beans. Place salt pork on top.
- Cover and set crock pot on HIGH. Check and add in water about every 3 hrs, when necessary. Cook 6 to 8 hrs.
