  • 1 pkt dry beans, yellow eye, navy, great northern, etc.
  • 4 Tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper
  • 1 tsp powdered mustard
  • 1/2 c. molasses
  • 1 1/2 c. warm water or possibly more as needed
  • 1 piece salt pork - (2 to 3 ounce)
  • 1 med onion peeled, whole

Direcciones

  1. Soak beans overnight. In the morning drain and replace water. Parboil 10 to 15 min (not longer).
  2. Place onion in crockpot. Drain beans and put on top of onion. Add in sugar, salt, pepper, mustard and molasses dissolved in 1 1/2 c. of warm water. Add in to beans. Add in sufficient warm water to just cover top of beans. Place salt pork on top.
  3. Cover and set crock pot on HIGH. Check and add in water about every 3 hrs, when necessary. Cook 6 to 8 hrs.
