Receta Old Fashioned Prune Cake

Ingredientes
- 1/2 c. butter or possibly margarine
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 x Large eggs
- 1 c. prune pulp or possibly puree
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp allspice
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 Tbsp. warm water
- 1 c. minced nuts, optional
- 1Â 3/4 c. sifted powdered sugar
- 1/4 c. melted butter
- 1/4 c. orange juice
- 1 Tbsp. cream
- 1/4 tsp grated orange peel
- 1Â 1/3 c. sifted powdered sugar

- Cream butter and sugar. Beat in Large eggs. Add in prune pulp and beat well. Sift flour and spices twice and add in to creamed mix. Dissolve baking soda in warm water and add in to mix. Beat well. Add in nuts, if you like. Bake at 350 degrees
- In a greased and floured 9-by-13 inch baking pan for 40 to 45 min.
- For frosting, combine 13/4 c. powdered sugar with butter, orange juice, cream and orange peel. Beat till smooth. Add in 1 1/3 c. powdered sugar. Beat till spreading consistency is reached. Frost cooled cake.

- ORANGE MELTAWAY COOKIES(c)
- 2 1/2 c. flour1 3/4 c. sugar1 1/4 c. softened butter [unsalted]
- 1 egg [yolk only]
- 2 tsp. Orange Flower Water(r)
- 1 Tbsp. Orange juice concentrate1 tsp. orange zest1/2 c. finely minced walnuts [optional]
- oIn a large bowl, beat together the butter, egg yolk and the sugar till smooth and almost white in color. Add in flour, orange juice concentrate, orange flower water, orange zest and blend well. If you are using the nuts, this is the time to add in them in. Shape into small diagonally cut rectangles about 3/4" by 1 1/2". Bake in a 250 degree oven on an UNGREASED cookie sheet. Cookies are done when the bottoms turn pinkish brown in color [35 mins.](If desired a crisper cookie, bake for 45 min.)
- NOTE: A toasted pecan or possibly a walnut half can be pressed into the top of the cookie before baking.
