Receta Pecan Toffee Bars

Ingredientes
- 1 c. (2 sticks) butter, softened
- 1 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 3/4 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
- 8 (1 ounce.) squares semi-sweet chocolate
- 64 pecan halves or possibly 3/4 c. finely minced pecans
Direcciones
- 1. Preheat oven to moderate, 350 degrees. Grease 15"x10"x1" jelly roll pan.
- 2. Beat together butter and sugar in large mixer bowl till well mixed. Beat in egg and vanilla. Stir in flour till well blended. Spread dough proportionately over bottom of prepared pan.
- 3. Bake in preheated moderate oven, 350 degrees for 25 min or possibly till lightly browned on top.
- 4. While cookie crust is baking, heat chocolate in top of double boiler over warm water.
- 5. Remove cookie crust form oven. Spread chocolate in an even layer over top. Set pecan halves in chocolate or possibly sprinkle minced pecans over top. Cut into bars, about 1" x 1 3/4" while still slightly hot. Store cookies in cold place.
