  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Butter
  • 1 lrg White onion, minced
  • 2 cl Garlic, chopped
  • 1 1/2 c. Water
  • 2 Tbsp. Dry sherry
  • 1/2 c. Water
  • 1/2 lb Lean bacon
  • 6 stalk celery sliced
  •     Diagonally
  • 3 c. Cubed new potatoes w/skin
  • 1 1/2 c. Lowfat milk, cream or possibly yogurt
  • 4 Tbsp. Flour

Direcciones

  1. In dutch oven, saute/fry bacon in butter till bacon in browned. Add in onion, celery, garlic, potatoes, 1 1/2 c water and lowfat milk. Bring to boil and simmer 30 min uncovered. Combine sherry, water and flour. Whisk sherry mix into chowder and simmer till thickened. Add in salt and fresh black pepper to taste.
  2. Makes 6 servings.
