Receta Sweet Vidalia Onion Pie

Ingredientes
- 1Â 1/2 c. crushed buttery round crackers
- 1/3 c. butter, melted
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 c. sliced sweet onions
- 2 x Large eggs
- 3/4 c. half-and-half
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp grnd white pepper
- 1/4 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
Direcciones
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a medium bowl, mix together crushed crackers and 1/3 c. melted butter. Press mix firmly into a 9 inch pie pan and set aside.
- Heat a medium skillet over medium heat. Heat 2 Tbsp. butter in skillet and saute/fry onions till translucent/soft and tender but not brown. Spread into prepared crust.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together Large eggs, half-and-half, salt, and white pepper. Pour mix over onions then sprinkle top with shredded cheese.
- Bake in preheated oven for 30 min, till center is set. Let stand 10 min before serving.
- This eggy, cheesy pie is a great seasonal side dish in place of potatoes, rice, pasta, etcetera.

- Makes 1 - 9 inch pie (8 servings).
