Ingredientes

Cost per serving $1.88 view details
  • 1 lb 7% fat ground beef
  • 2 lbs ground pork
  • 12 fresh mozzarella balls in olive oil, dryed on a paper towel to remove as much oil as possible
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp. Mrs. Dash tomato basil seasoning
  • 3 Tbsp. olive oil from cheese
  • 3 14.5 oz. cans diced italian tomatos
  • 1 14.5 oz fat free beef broth
  • 1 Tbsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp. onion powder
  • 1 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp. dry minced onions
  • 2-3 dashes balsamic vinegar

Direcciones

  1. In a large crock pot add tomatos, beef broth, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder & minced onion and vinegar. Set on high.
  2. Mix together ground meats, egg & Mrs. Dash. Seperate meat into 12 even portions.
  3. Begin to round out a portion of meat into a meatball. Slightly flatten in center & add cheese. Gently close meat around cheese & try to keep cheese in center of meatball.
  4. Heat oil from cheese over medium heat. Add meatballs into pan. Don't crowd, leave some space. Brown meatball on all sides, turning very gently so the meatball does not crack & cheese leaks out.
  5. When meatball is browned place into crock pot with tomato broth. When all meatballs are in crock pot scrape brown bits from pan meatballs were browned in into the crock pot.
  6. Cook for 4-5 hours.
  7. Enjoy!

      Hi Bud:
This sounds good. Maybe a weeknight family dinner when we come to Spokane in December? It could be "crockpot it and forget it" if we are out and about with the kids during the day. Yeap, a good red like a Sangiovese would work well with this.

      Love, Dad
