An easy marinara with complex warm flavors. Gives wonderful aromas while you're cooking this dish. You can't help but enjoy a glass of your favorite red wine while preparing!

  • 2 - 4 Cloves of Fresh Garlic. Crush or chop fine.
  • 1/8 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 28 oz can peeled tomatoes (Muir Glen Organic, or Pomodori Pelati con Basilico preferred). Chop fine.
  • 1/2 Teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons crushed dried basil
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock
  • Your favorite pasta

Direcciones

  1. Saute garlic in olive oil until it starts to dissolve. Be careful not to brown or burn the garlic. Use low heat.
  2. Add chopped tomatoes, stir and simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Add remaining ingredients, stir and let simmer over low heat for 30 minutes.

    Have never seen a marinara recipe with mustard in it, so was excited to try. Didn't disappoint; a really quick and easy way to create a home cooked meal. Since I had a sauage left over, I incorporated that and fry it with the garlic. Also added a little brown sugar (only because I just watched the Godfather for the nth time and Michael is told to always add a little sugar!)
