  1. Sift the flour, baking pwdr and salt together.
  2. Beat the butter and sugar in mixer till creamed, add in the Large eggs one at a time, then 1 Tblsp of the flour , the lowfat milk and vanilla. Mix in the remaining flour by hand without losing volume in the mix.
  3. Pour into greased paper-lined tins 20 cm diameter and spread the mix proportionately.
  4. Bake at 190C/380F for 25-30 min till set and lightly coloured.
  5. Allow the cake to stand for 5 min before turning out.
  6. Cooking times vary with size and shape of cake.
