  1. Beat butter till soft. Add in confectioner's sugar. Stir in vanilla and salt. Add in flour gradually. Work in nuts thoroughly. Refrigeratedough 1 hour.
  2. Form into 1" balls. Bake on ungreased sheet at 400 degrees 10-12 min. Dough should be set but not brown. Roll whill hot in confectioner's sugar. Cold. Roll in confectioner's sugar again.
  3. Variation: Almond Balls: Use only 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and add in 1/2 teaspoon almond extract. Use 3/4 c. blanched nuts, finely grnd. Shape into balls or possibly crescents. Bake at 375 degrees till set but not brown, about 10 minutes.
