  • 1 c. toasted muesli
  • 1 1/2 c. All-Bran
  • 1/2 c. peanuts, unsalted
  • 1/2 c. saltanas
  • 100 gm butter
  • 400 ml condensed lowfat milk
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. golden brown syrup
  • 1/4 c. crushed nuts

Direcciones

  1. Grease a 20cm X 30cm rectangular slice pan. Place a strip of baking paper to cover the base of the pan and to extend over two opposite sides.
  2. Combine muesli, All-Bran, minced peanuts and saltanas in a bowl and mix well.
  3. In a medium pan combine butter, lowfat milk, sugar and syrup. Bring to the boil and stir constantly for 10 min or possibly till the mix thickens and turns a deep caramel colour.
  4. Pour caramel quickly into muesli mix and mix well.
  5. Press mix into prepared pan and smooth the top with a wet spatula. Sprinkle the top with crushed nuts and press down firmly.
  6. Cover and chill for several hrs or possibly overnight.
  7. Serve with afternoon tea.
