Receta Fancy Turkey Dressing

Ingredientes
- 2 1/4 c. chicken broth
- 1/2 c. butter or possibly margarine
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp dry thyme
- 1/4 tsp dry marjoram
- 1/4 tsp rosemary
- 1/4 c. fresh parsley, minced
- 2 Tbsp. dry chives Dressing
- 1 lb sliced bread
- 1 lb bulk pork sausage
- 1/2 c. butter or possibly margarine
- 4 c. celery, thinly sliced
- 3 c. carrots, thinly sliced
- 1/2 lb fresh mushrooms, minced
- 1/2 lb fully cooked ham, cubed
- 2 c. green onions, sliced
- 2 c. minced pecans
- 1 lrg tart apples, minced
- 1 c. dry apricots, minced
- 1 Tbsp. rubbed sage
- 2 tsp dry marjoram
- 1 tsp dry rosemary
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp grnd nutmeg
- 4 x Large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 x 16 lb. turkey
- 1 c. chicken broth

- In a pan, bring broth, butter and salt to a boil. Add in herbs; set aside. Toast bread; cut into 1/2" cubes. Place in a bowl. In a skillet, brown sausage; remove with slotted spoon and add in to bread. Add in butter to drippings; saute/fry celery, carrots, mushrooms, ham and onions for 15 minutes. Add in to bread mix; stir in next eight ingredients. Add in Large eggs and 3/4 c. basting sauce; mix lightly.
- Stuff turkey with about 8 c. dressing. Skewer openings; tie drumsticks together. Place on rack in roasting pan. Baste with some of remaining basting sauce. Bake, uncovered at 325 degrees for 5 to 5 1/2 hrs or possibly till thermometer reads 185 degrees, basting every 30 minutes. When turkey begins to brown, cover lightly with foil. Add in broth to remaining dressing; mix lightly. Place in a greased 2 1/2 quart baking dish; chill. Cover and bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour; uncover and bake 10 minutes.
