Receta German's Sweet Chocolate Cake

Ingredientes
- 4 ounce Sweet Chocolate (Baker's German's brand)
- 1/2 c. Boiling water
- 1 c. Butter/margarine
- 2 c. Sugar
- 4 x Large eggs, separated
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 2 1/4 c. Sifted flour Or possibly 2-1/2 sifted cake flour
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 c. Buttermilk

- Heat chocolate in boiling water. Cold. Cream buter and sugar till fluffy. Add in yolks, 1 at a time, beating well after each. Blend in vanilla and chocolate. Sift flour with soda and salt; add in alternately with buttermilk to chocolate mix, beating after each addition till smooth. Beat egg whites till stiff; mix in beaten whites.
- Pour into three 9-inch layer pans, lined on bottoms with paper. Bake at 350 for 30-35 min. Cold Frost tops only.
- =) Coconut-Pecan Frosting Combine 1 c. evaporated lowfat milk, 1 c. sugar, 3 slightly beaten egg yolks, 1/2 c. butter/margarine and 1 tsp vanilla. Cook and stir over medium heat till thickened, about 12 min. Add in 1-1/3 c. flaked coconut and 1 c. minced pecans. Cold till thick sufficient to spread, beating occasionally.
